Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a type of massage that stimulates the lymphatic system via gentle , rhythmic strokes. In order to understand the benefits of MLD, one must have a basic understanding of the lymphatic system.

 The lymphatic system is a very important part of the immune system, in which lymphatic fluid (lymph) is circulated around the body via lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes.  Lymphatic vessels carry lymph that contain infection fighting cells known as lymphocytes.  The lymphocytes help the body fight disease and infection. The lymphatic system also helps  to drain excess proteins and fluids from the body tissues and return them to the bloodstream, which essentially prevents  tissue swelling.  Another important function is filtering of dead body cells and organisms which can also cause diseases.

I find that the soothing music, dim lighting, cool surroundings is really great when one is doing Brazilian Waxing. The therapists are friendly and will often talk to distract me from the pain in waxing. The treatments are done in clean, hygienic and professional manner.
